Development Pipeline

Rummans Energy is evaluating early-stage rural energy projects in Central Illinois. Our initial focus is community solar and community-driven community solar, with each site reviewed for landowner fit, utility interconnection, zoning, engineering feasibility, environmental considerations, financing, and long-term rural grid-support value.

We are intentionally starting with focused, right-sized projects. Our goal is not to cover farmland with panels. Our goal is to identify and develop practical power solutions that create long-term value for landowners, rural communities, and the electric grid.

Central Illinois Community Solar Pipeline

Status: Early Development / Feasibility Review

Rummans Energy is currently evaluating a small pipeline of Central Illinois sites for potential community solar development. Each project must pass a disciplined development process before it advances, including landowner agreement, utility review, engineering input, zoning and permitting analysis, financing review, and community benefit evaluation.

Solar is the entry point. Battery storage, interconnection flexibility, and other grid-support features may be evaluated on future sites where they are technically and economically justified.

Project Specifications

• Capacity: 1-3 Megawatt (MW) AC

• Technology: Solar is the starting point. Where technically and economically appropriate, future sites may also be evaluated for battery storage optionality, interconnection flexibility, or other rural grid-support features.

• Impact: Capable of powering approximately 200+ local homes while significantly reducing the strain on the regional grid during peak hours.

Impact:

• Clean Power Generation: Harvesting abundant energy from the sun.

• Grid Resilience

• Projects may create local renewable energy generation, long-term landowner lease income, new local tax value, community solar participation opportunities, and distributed energy resources located closer to existing rural electric infrastructure.

Rummans Energy is developing early-stage distributed solar projects in central Illinois and is evaluating whether select sites can incorporate community-benefit features, including bill savings, rural resiliency, battery storage, local workforce participation, public-sector partnerships, or low-to-moderate-income household benefits.
